I’ve been creating jewelry for about 2 years. I opened my etsy site in April of 2008. From the start, my purpose was clear. I would simply make jewelry that I visualized in my head, but could never find.
…for example, why the hell is it so hard to find jewelry with ankhs on it? The ankh is a very important symbol for a LOT of people. So I set out on a mission to offer chic jewelry that had meaning. One shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for values.
My original creations were more well-received than I could have ever imagined.
I put in over 12 hours of work on this everyday. I visualize, sketch, purchase supplies, create, photograph, handle all administrative and networking tasks. I work harder on this than I ever have on anything. To be driven by passion is to have seemingly divine strength.
2 years later, my jewelry has been blogged about several times over, retailers carrying my line are increasing, and I am able to donate to causes regularly.
